Mark Haskins has been a young star to watch out for since his breakaway from The Chavs. Forming an allegiance with Joey Redman and Ricky Hype, the man who likes to be known as “The Star Attraction” has certainly talked the talk and got the results to back it up. This included his impressive Rumble win at the last show in Buckland. Despite being a moment of excitement at earning the title shot, Haskins must also face it with trepidation as he now cashes in his title shot this Saturday against new Champion “The Guvnor” Martin Stone.

Fresh off his title win at Battle Royale 2008, the man who originally held the Championship for a year and a half will be intent on having an even longer reign this time round, and that does not bode will for Haskins. Stone was relentless in his attack on former champ Andy Boy Simmonz and a display on any level could leave Haskins with a lot to think about. Then again, will complacency set in for Stone now he’s back on the top of the mountain?

If it wasn’t enough that IPW:UK put some of the finest physical competitors in to the ring together, Portsmouth will see a triple threat match between three of the best of we’ve got. All three men will have different reasons for stepping in the ring but Joel Redman, Eamon O’Neill and Terry Frazier will have nothing on their minds except picking up the win.

Redman, whilst being a man to get the job done in The Thrillers, has not been the mouthpiece Haskins has but instead has spoken in the ring. A win over O’Neill, who is yet to pick up a one count against his name and will be intent on keeping it that way, and Terry Frazier, a current IPW Tag Title holder, would elevate Redman close to Championship contention. Maybe this will be a really big night for The Thrillers, or maybe having Frazier and O’Neill in the ring will be too much for “The Physical Specimen”.

Last month we saw one of the biggest upsets so far in the British National Championship as IPW Champ at the time Andy Boy Simmonz was eliminated by Dan Head. As the Championship rolls on, either James Tighe or Sha Samuels will be out of the tournament by this Saturday.

Tighe is coming off the back of a mixed 2007, advancing to this stage of the tournament when he defeated Nigel McGuiness by reverse decision. Samuels, on the other hand, has been seeded to this stage thanks to his Championship credentials. The winner must face Dan Head in a best of three falls match, but which of these men really thinks they can go all the way?

Jules Lambrini made his debut in Portsmouth last time out and, as with everywhere Lambrini goes, he made a lasting impression. He is now welcomed back with not-quite open arms for a singles match. Unfortunately, his opponent for the evening will be the powerhouse known as “The Fitness” Ricky Hype.

Hype, the final member of The Thrillers trio to be added to the card, has been competing hard around the country as of late and has been really showing what he is made of. What he will make of Lambrini is unclear, but if his no nonsense attitude continues, there could be pain in the future of the rainbow clad warrior.

And in other action, "The Righteous" Paul Travell makes his second IPW:UK Portsmouth appearance on the spin, as he takes on Ian "The Idol" Logan in singles action. It was Logan's actions last time out in the Rumble that cost Travell the chance to challenge for gold this time out, distracting match referee Tommy Stevens and allowing Mark Haskins to pick up the win.

With a new bad attitude, Ian Logan will be looking to pick up without doubt his biggest victory of his IPW:UK career against a man who has over 10 years in-ring experience behind him, as well as a accomplished background in mixed martial arts and the hardcore styles of wrestling in Paul Travell.

Tickets are available on the evening. Doors open 6.30, with first bell 7pm. Show over by 9.15. For more details, click the 'events' link down the left hand side of the IPW:UK website, www.ipwuk.com!
