BILLI LIGHTNING TO GET STRUCK DOWN

When Billi Lightning entered the Battle Royale, his confidence was as high as it always is. He was quite content laying in a couple of shots on the new Champion, ‘The Guv’nor’ Martin Stone. Finally this confidence has backfired and Stone showed Championship smarts as he eliminated himself from the Rumble straight after one of these right hands.

The new two-time title holder had to go through a brutal battle with Andy Boy Simmonz in a Last Man Standing Match at the final Orpington stand, a match which was physically and emotionally exhausting for both men. Stone was not going to accept the arrogance from Lightning, but rather than taking it out in the Rumble, he took himself over the top rope and made sure Lightning knew exactly what it meant. The man who currently likes to be known as ‘The Undefeated’ will have to win the Championship if he is to keep that name – and ‘The Guv’nor’ will be having none of that.

BRITISH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ROLLS ON

We have had some big shocks in the British National Championship over the last few weeks, with maybe one of the most notable eliminations being that of James Tighe at the hands of Sha Samuels last week in Portsmouth. This weekend there will be two more men advancing to the third round, whilst a further pair of top contenders will be sent home with nothing.

‘The Wonderkid’ Jonny Storm had one of the best odds of all at the start of the tournament, but now he has to go up against the monster eXodus which will be an extremely tough task. He has defeated the masked monster once before in IPW, but can lightning really strike twice? Also, ‘All Star’ Mikey Whiplash made a huge impact with his opening round match against Robbie Dynamite, but he will definitely not take kindly to Zack Sabre Jr in both attitude and any attempted interference from the rest of The Leaders of the New School, Marty Scurll, Nikko Brixton and Paul Robinson!

U-GENE, SIMMONZ…

Three men will return to IPW action after various changes in circumstance. Maybe the most notable is Nick ‘U-Gene’ Dinsmore, who brought his fun-loving style of wrestling to IPW:UK in January and once again returns for our Bromley debut. Whilst he was here last time he made friends with Andy Boy Simmonz, who will return to IPW for the first time since losing the Championship to Martin Stone in March. U-Gene came out last time to help Simmonz, so maybe he’ll be able to find a way to cheer the former champ up.

TAG TEAM TURMOIL IN BROMLEY

Four teams will arrive in Bromley this Sunday, and only two will go away with their goals achieved. For Sha Samuels and Terry Frazier, it is a case of surviving from the unknown as they step in to the ring with LT Summers and the mystery partner of his choosing. Although a member of The Hated Heroes would be an easy option, it is anyone’s guess as to whom Summers will get on his side as he vies for his first Championship in IPW.

On the other hand, The Untouchables have tasted the gold before and are now more eager than ever to get it back around their waists. Having both been eliminated from the British National Championship, “Sadistic” Jack Storm and “The Human Hate Machine” Dave Moralez are competing once again in tag action against the returning Maximum Head. Both teams know that a win would put them on the brink of a Championship contest, and with Maximum Head already holding a win over The Kartel in IPW; it really does put things in the balance as to who will hold the belts in the not so distant future.
