» IPW:UK return to the new home of pro wrestling in England, The Great Hall in Bromley, Kent, on Sunday June 22nd for “Unfinished Business 2008”! And boy is there some unfinished business in IPW:UK right now, with JC Thunder still trying to get his hands now on both Blok Busta and ‘Sadistic’ Jack Storm, while Martin Stone gets his chance to get revenge against Thrillers member ‘The Fitness’ Ricky Hype in Sunday’s main event.
Plus, a first time ever in IPW:UK as two former IPW:UK Champions collide when Andy Boy Simmonz takes on one former best friend in Aviv Maayan! Can Simmonz teach Maayan a lesson, or will The ‘A’ List get one up on The Iron Lions?

3 British National Championship Matches This Sunday!
» Making his second appearance in the Great Hall is none other than ‘The Wonderkid’ Jonny Storm, as he goes toe-to-toe with ‘The Bad Boy of British Wrestling’ Jon Ryan this Sunday in one of the first matches in the third round of the BNC.
Storm, who opened the contest against Jorge Castano with a win under the watchful eye of British Legend Johnny Saint, took on another tough hard hitting son of a gun in the second round as he dumped ‘The Monster’ eXodus out of the tournament.
Jon Ryan however has had much easier of a route to the third round, getting a bye due to forfeit in the first round, and then destroying Devilman in a matter of minutes at an RQW Dartford event in round 2.
Both men haven’t wrestled each other for ten years, in which time styles and experience levels have certainly changed, but with both on a good roll of momentum at the moment, it’s tough to pick which of these pre-tournament favourites will advance.
Also in the third round we see the first 2/3 falls contest between Dan Head and the currently injured Sha Samuels. Samuels is facing a late battle against fitness to stop him having to forfeit the contest, but expects to have a better than 50% chance of making the start line this Sunday.
Samuels, who received a bye into round 2 by being one of the IPW:UK Champions, took out a pre-tournament favourite in round 2 in the form of James Tighe.
Dan Head has so far hit the tournament with two of its biggest shock victories, taking out the impressive Thriller Joel Redman in the opening round before defeating then IPW:UK Champion Andy Boy Simmonz in a non-title match in round 2 – certainly the biggest shock of the tournament so far. Both men are no strangers to each other as they have faced many times in tag team action, but how will the tag specialist Samuels fare in singles action this Sunday?
» And of course, the other half of The Kartel, Terry Frazier, will be in action also as we wrap up the second round with a bout against British Legend Johnny Kidd.
With partner Sha Samuels’ aforementioned recent injury worries, Frazier has had a chance to practise his singles expertise, and while results haven’t quite gone his way so far, his singles showing against 2 of the Thrillers at Broxbourne will prove that he’s now into his stride in singles action, and his pre-tournament odds should now have shrunk significantly.
Johnny Kidd is somebody who has been there, done that and got the wardrobe of t-shirts, and will know exactly how to take on a young gun like Terry Frazier in an atmosphere like IPW:UK provides in The Great Hall. Kidd, a 7/1 near front favourite at the beginning of the tournament, has already defeated British Legend Mal Sanders in the opening round – can he advance into the round of 16?
Lambrini & Patterson Return, Stone To Face Hype In The Main Event!!
» After being attacked by The Thrillers on three occasions now, Martin Stone has been looking to get his hands on some of them in singles action. This started last weekend at the Broxbourne Civic Hall, as Stone got his hands on and defeated ‘The Star Attraction’ Mark Haskins. Now with matches against Redman and Rees in his future, this weekend it’s the time to take on ‘The Fitness’ Ricky Hype!
Hype burst onto the IPW:UK scene in Portsmouth during the middle of 2007, almost immediately dropping his former tag partner and moving in to become one of the 3 original Thrillers. Only making one appearance in Orpington as a non-wrestling Thriller, The Kartel and Stone had clearly forgotten about his involvement in the group until Royale Rewards, where he slid in to break up a sure 3-count on partner Haskins.
Last month however, he made an even bigger impact by doing something nobody did for well over 18 months when he was IPW:UK Champion first time around, and pinning ‘The Guvnor’ Martin Stone after clocking the champ hard in the head with a steel crutch – brought to ringside by Iestyn Rees.
Now the challenge is out there for a full one-on-one confrontation, with Hype accepting. In Hype’s first ever IPW:UK Title match he has the chance to cause what could be considered a pretty big upset and de-throne the man that the fans truly see as “their champ”.
» And in one of the matches on the undercard, we see the return of Jules Lambrini to the Bromley Civic Centre to try and score his first victory since the move from Orpington, this time against another IPW:UK returnee – Payday Patterson!
Patterson, an American wrestler currently touring Europe, made his IPW:UK debut back in April last year on the first IPW:UK double weekend in Hampshire, forging a friendship with former fan favourite Blok Busta in earning Blok Busta his first ever win in IPW:UK. Last time he faced The Chavs – this time he’ll be facing off against somebody a little more Flamboyant!
After picking up steam on the way to a good track record in the Orpington Halls, Lambrini made his main show debut last month and quickly got all the steam knocked right out of him by the quick rising ‘Human Hate Machine’ Dave Moralez. He did however score a pinfall victory on his Bognor debut against Kade Kallous back on June 6th infront of 400 screaming fans, and as a result has been given another opportunity for this coming Sunday. Can the happy camper get his first peg in the win hole, or will Patterson make his British return a successful one?
Grudge Match Signed – Simmonz To Take On Maayan One-on-One!
» Former tag team partners and best friends will collide this Sunday, as Andy Boy Simmonz, accompanied by Iron Lion James Tighe, takes on fellow former IPW:UK Champion Aviv Maayan in singles action!
Maayan, who has dedicated himself just to IPW:UK since the start of the year, was the first ever IPW:UK Champion, before losing the title to ‘The Guvnor’ Martin Stone in July of IPW:UK’s first year. Since then however, Maayan’s attitude and outlook on wrestling has changed significantly, and since aligning himself with Summers, Lightning and more recently Eamon O’Neill (with them four comprising the ‘A’ List) he’s certainly not been somebody the fans wanted to lend their support to.
Since breaking away from the former Hated Heroes, Simmonz has set out to teach his former friends a lesson in respect and punishment, bringing in his new tag partner James Tighe as the duo are now known as the Iron Lions.
After being defeated last month in a Lumberjack tag match against Maayan and Summers due to interference from Eamon O’Neill, Simmonz will be looking to have Tighe on hand to hold off any interference from the rest of the ‘A’ List. But, with Billi Lightning around and Big Brother restarting on television it’s a certainty that the “TV Superstar” will surely be hyperactive and want to stick his nose in where it isn’t welcome!
And therefore the current card for IPW:UK “Unfinished Business 2008” on Sunday June 22nd 2008 is:
IPW:UK Title Match
- ‘The Guvnor’ Martin Stone (c) [3 defences] vs. ‘The Fitness’ Ricky Hype of the Thrillers (w/ Gilligan Gordon & Iestyn Rees)
