The chants of "Olé!" will be filling IPW venues again this July as the highflying sensation El Generico will make his return with scheduled bouts on July 2nd (Tap ‘N Tin) and July 5th (Sittingbourne).
Generico who has had many famous encounters in IPW rings over the years, including a series of classics against ‘The Man Gravity Forgot’ Pac that went a long way toward establishing both men as two of the sports elite can’t wait to return and create some more ‘IPW moments’.
News on his opponents will be announced very shortly!
HUGE TITLE REMATCH ANNOUNCED FOR SUMMER SIZZLER IN SITTINGBOURNE
Having wowed the Sittingbourne crowd with an extraordinary night of action in May, IPW:UK returns to Wyvern Hall on Sunday 5th July for the fourth annual Summer Sizzler! Even at this early stage it looks like being one of the biggest shows of the year, with the finals of the Contenders’ Series already announced. But the heat is about to get turned up even more as we announce a pair of championship rematches that fans around the country have been clamouring for...
BRITISH TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Leaders of the New School (Zack Sabre Jnr and Marty Scurll, champions) vs. The Thrillers (Mark Haskins and Joel Redman, challengers)
It is quickly becoming the feud of the year in IPW:UK – two unforgettable matches since the start of 2009 have seen the Leaders edge out the Thrillers to become the undisputed champions of British tag team wrestling. The problem is, that status is actually anything but undisputed.
Never one to accept defeat graciously, Thrillers manager “Gentleman” Gilligan Gordon has insisted that his men were robbed after being “unfairly goaded” into the impromptu title defence that cost them the championships. Having not expected that they would need their title belts with them when IPW:UK last visited Sittingbourne, Redman and Haskins are actually still in possession of one of the straps and are now refusing to do the sportsmanlike thing and hand it over to the new champions.
Gordon and the Thrillers appear to be following the old adage that possession is nine tenths of the law. In that case, the Leaders will take the law into their own hands on 5th July as they attempt to gain possession of that second title belt. Can the new champions put their position as Britain’s premier team beyond doubt? Or will the Thrillers stop Scurll and Sabre Jnr from going 3-0 up in this remarkable rivalry? The issue will surely be settled once and for all at Summer Sizzler.
Therefore the current card for IPW:UK Summer Sizzler 2009 looks as follows:
- Undisputed British Tag Team Championship
The Leaders vs The Thrillers
- Contenders Series Finals
Terry Frazier vs Leroy Kincaide
- Contenders Series 3rd Place Play Off
‘The Human Hate Machine’ Dave Moralez vs ‘The Guv’nor’ Martin Stone
Plus: EL GENERICO, IPW:UK Champion ‘The Showstealer’ Alex Shane & more!
