'The Wonderkid' To Whirl Into Swanley - Could Fight For The Cruiserweight Gold!
» After an unfortunate injury in training, The British Eagle has been forced to withdraw from both last night's Petersfield event and unfortunately also from the biggest match in his short career this Saturday against 'The Star Attraction' Mark Haskins for Cruiserweight Gold. The Eagle will be back in action just as soon as the doctors (or vets, perhaps?) allow..
..however...
In the meanwhile, IPW:UK are forced to make a decision about an opponent for Mark Haskins. And what better way to make that decision than leave it down to two of our top cruiserweight qualified stars who have been with IPW:UK since day 1, with the winner of THAT bout taking on Mark Haskins in the co-main event! Introducing first...
- 'The Wonderkid' JONNY STORM made his return to IPW:UK in September after a yearlong absence. The winner of the first ever IPW:UK main event back in September 2004, with international pedigree and a dedication to victory like no other, Storm is the perfect choice for cruiserweight contendership. On his singles return to IPW:UK, Storm made an instant impact in defeating the man who he is replacing, The British Eagle, via pinfall. There's no need to Wonder, the Kid has still got it!
- If anybody doubts how strong a contender to any title TERRY FRAZIER is, we'd like to direct you to the British National Championship tournament. Over 55 men started, and there could be only one winner, and Terry Frazier was that man. Capturing the All-England Title in the process, Frazier showed that not only is he a strong tag team wrestler, but he is also very well versed on his own. Looking to become the first man to ever capture three separate titles in IPW:UK, Frazier could make history if the cards fall right for him this Saturday at MAKE OR BREAK!
» In keeping with the MAKE OR BREAK theme of the show, the winner of this bout will fight later in the night against current Cruiserweight Champ 'The Star Attraction' Mark Haskins. The loser goes home empty handed!
The Man With The Longest Nickname In Pro Wrestling Returns To Singles Action, October 10th @ MAKE OR BREAK!
» You may know him as 'Hotshot', maybe you know him as 'Rowdy', or perhaps you simply know him as the last line of defence for the Thrillers, but Ricky Hype is back and better than ever, and wants to let the world know!
During his time away from IPW:UK, Hype shot to national fame and fortune, picking up £10,000 on Saturday night prime time television for winning outright on the super-tough game show "Total Wipeout", defeating 19 other hopefuls.
The fame clearly hasn't gone to his head though. Of course not. Never. Ok, just a little...
With no opponent yet signed for this Saturday's Swanley return, Hype has put out an open challenge with a twist. If the IPW:UK roster member who accepts the challenge defeats him, he will hand over a cheque for £1,000 from his Total Wipeout winnings!
With several key IPW:UK names still unsigned for matches this Saturday, it could be anybody from former champions to future favourites that could accept the challenge. But whoever it turns out being, Hype has one more thing he wants them to know - that he has a BIG suprise up his sleeve that will SHOCK everbody in Swanley!
» In keeping with the MAKE OR BREAK theme of the show, Hype has put up £1,000 from his winnings from "Total Wipeout" against whomever accepts his open challenge. On October 10th somebody will either MAKE themselves a hell of a lot richer, or begin to BREAK the bank for Hype!
In Other News:
» IPW:UK were upset to hear of another injury to a scheduled star this past week, as 'Mr. IPW' Ashley Reed has put wrestling on ice once again after a 3rd and likely final injury to his troubled shoulder area. Reed, who was one of the top mainstays of early IPW:UK, has been in and out of full fitness for 2 years and now has decided to call it a day due to his most recent injury in training for MAKE OR BREAK.
» IPW:UK "Tapout" makes its return this Saturday at MAKE OR BREAK. The show-day programme, a feature of all of the IPW:UK Orpington events back in the day, has been on hiatus but is now back with a bang for this Saturday's event!
And therefore the current card for IPW:UK’s “MAKE OR BREAK” is:
