IPW:UK Brawl At The Hall 2009 - Fallout Notes
- What a night we witnessed last Sunday November 22nd as IPW:UK presented fans with the 5th Annual Brawl At The Hall...
» The standout performance of the night has to go to the high flying sensation The Lion Kid, who in just his second IPW appearance defeated The Star Attraction Mark Haskins in a breathtaking encounter that saw him take his overall competitive record to 3-0 and lift the British Cruiserweight Championship.
» Conspicuous by his absence was The Thrillers, ‘Manager of Champions’ Gilligan Gordon and with his manager license within IPW up for renewal in the new year his status remains unknown.
» Jonny Storm continues his recent run of form that has seen him pick up victories over the likes of Andy Boy Simmonz, Marty Scurll, The British Eagle and Terry Frazier picked up perhaps his two biggest scalps in form of ROH’s Jimmy Jacobs & CZW’s Sabian (though Jacobs elimination is a little dubious) in an international triple threat match. On this form Storm surely must be in contention for both Cruiserweight and Heavyweight gold.
» After his victory over Martin Stone on Thursday at The Tap ‘N’ Tin it would appear that Jimmy Jacobs went straight to IPW management and petitioned for a title shot should Johnny Moss not be able to make the Brawl At The Hall. Having beaten a top 5 ranked wrestler in Stone, his request was granted upon the condition that with so many last minute changes to the card he still compete in his advertised matchup. Jacobs agreed to this stipulation but schemed his way out of the 3 way at the earliest opportunity in order to firstly keep Leroy Kincaide guessing the identity of his opponent and secondly keep himself fresh for his title challenge ahead. However what would seem to be the perfect plan was foiled by a motivated and hungry Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion in Leroy Kincaide who was determined to prove his worth as champion coming off a two month injury lay off.
» The strongest tag team division in Europe today just got a little bit stronger as Stixx & Malen (S&M) are certainly two men who made an immediate impact this past Sunday. Despite being defeated by the Undisputed British Tag Team Champions they left the champs lying after a vicious chain shot and their equally brutal Critical Condition double team manoeuvre. S&M made it perfectly are here to stay.
» James Mason and Joel Redman produced a fine exhibition of the sport of professional wrestling in a technical masterpiece that saw both men take each to the limit in the ultimate game of human chess that left fans in awe. It will be interesting to see where both Mason & Redman go from here.
» The 5th Annual Brawl At The Hall match was everything we hoped for and more. Despite being eliminated The All Stars combination of Mikey Whiplash & Robbie Dynamite looked very impressive and will no doubt be looking to continue to impress match makers as they attempt to earn their first Tag Team title shot in
» One man who we are still left with more questions than answers for is Danny Garnell, who picked and chose his moments throughout the contest to take cheap shots at The Firm trio before walking out on the match to save having to face a pissed off Martin Stone and a fired up Terry Frazier. D-Day for Garnell could quite possibly come on Sunday February 21st when he goes one on one with Martin Stone.
» We are told that Sha Samuels has made peace with Martin Stone & Terry Frazier after being visibly upset at having beer poured on him in the post match celebration. Samuels apologised citing frustration at being eliminated early by DQ as one of the reasons he appeared to lose his cool.
» We are currently looking over our 2010 schedule and matches that we want to put together. There is a possibility that the Battle Royale could be moved to another show however what we can confirm for sure now is that we will return to Sittingbourne on Sunday February 21st with Danny Garnell vs. Martin Stone being officially confirmed this week.
» Don’t forget we round the year off in just under two weeks time on Saturday December 12th from the White Oak Leisure Centre in Swanley.
