» 2009 ended terribly for The Thrillers - first they saw their prize asset Iestyn Rees lose the IPW:UK Undisputed Title in April. Then, in July we saw the beginning of the great 2009 feud with The Leaders, who took, and retained the British Tag Titles. And in November finally we saw the last remaining gold leave the camp, as The Lion Kid leapt into Sittingbourne and pounced on Mark Haskins, picking up the British Cruiserweight Title in the process.
His opponent is going to be one of the most successful men in the singles cruiser ranks in 2009, not just in IPW:UK but all around the country - that man being the Bollywood special, the Bhangra big boy, RJ Singh.
Alongside his new collective of Bhangra Knights (Adil Khan, Darrell Amrah & The Director), Singh has risen back to prominence in IPW:UK, picking up wins and bringing his associates up and along with him. This is a first time meeting between The Kid and Singh however, and these bouts can always prove to be eventful.
» American high-flyers Cheech & Cloudy, who make their IPW:UK debut the week before this event, will make their return on February 27th in tag team action against an as yet unsigned set of opponents.
The duo, who will be competing in Sittingbourne on February 21st down in Kent, are a good stylistic matchup against current British Tag Team Champions the Leaders (Marty Scurll & Zack Sabre Jr), and will be looking to try and earn a match against the energetic champions, be it for title gold or otherwise!
