» Over the past 6 years IPW has established the Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship as the most prestigious title in the Europe today meaning that any man to hold the strap carries a huge responsibility. When Dave Mastiff took on this responsibility after dethroning Leroy Kincaide at February’s Unfinished Business he certainly didn’t take his role as champion lightly, promising to take on any and all challengers from around the wrestling world.

Mastiff’s second title defence certainly put him on the map as THE future of British wrestling as he went to a 30 minute time-limit draw with Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Takeshi Morishima. Mastiff put in a career best performance going toe to toe with the huge Jap for 30 awe inspiring minutes. Despite producing a contest being described as an instant classic, this is not the end that either the fans or Mastiff wanted: Mastiff was still the champion but the contest never reached a decisive finish.

Determined to move forward from here Mastiff agreed to fight a very dangerous opponent in form of ‘The Vigilante’ Johnny Moss and after a near 20 minute physical war it was ‘The Human Hate Machine’ that came out on top, leaving IPW matchmakers with a dilemma. After confirming Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Go Shiozaki , Mastiff respectfully asked management to defend the title against the former GHC World Heavyweight Champion despite the fact he was scheduled to defend the gold against former champion Leroy Kincaide.

Recognising the importance of the defence on the worldwide stage, along with Mastiff’s promise that should he be victorious he will happily defend the belt against Kincaide at the earliest possible opportunity, matchmakers have agreed to the request of the undisputed champion.

This is not the only request that Mastiff put into the office; determined not to have a repeat situation with international talent Mastiff has demanded that his contest with Shiozaki has NO TIME LIMIT and IPW management have agreed meaning that on Sunday August 1st we will see a decisive winner in this heavyweight contest where we bring together the future of British wrestling and the future of Japanese wrestling for the first time ever.

» As mentioned, after defeating Iestyn Rees at Unfinished Business Leroy Kincaide must surely be considered the number one contender to the Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship. However due to the opportunity to make this matchup between Mastiff and Shiozaki, IPW matchmakers have asked the former champion to be patient for his championship re-match and have not only guaranteed him a future title shot but also offered him a fair compromise which we understand will be made public in the next few days.
