Andy "Boy" Simmonz—named after his idol and hero Davey Boy Smith (a.k.a. the late, great British Bulldog) as well as Danny "Boy" Collins—is one of the premier heavyweight wrestlers in England, period.
After proving his worth as a true fighter in the first months of IPW:UK's existence, Simmonz forayed into the tag team division for the first time this past July, teaming with the late great British Bulldog's son, Harry "Bulldog" Smith in the tag team tournament. Progressing to the semi-finals, the team (collectively known as British Beef) made their mark.
However, the fans began to get back on the case of Andy Boy. After some amazing matches in the back end of 2005 and then a match of the night candidate against "The Wonderkid" Jonny Storm, the crowd still didn't give Andy the respect he thought he deserved, and on February 18, 2006 he snapped, never to be the same again.
In April 2006, Simmonz defeated former tag partner and now WWE-signed superstar, Harry "Bulldog" Smith in a one-on-one bout. In June, he survived over 45 minutes in a grueling over-the-top rumble at Battle Royale to win ANY match of his choice in IPW:UK.
And on October 22, 2006—while incapacitated in a wheelchair—Andy Boy Simmonz used that match of choice. A No DQ, Falls Count Anywhere bout for the IPW:UK title. And after help from running buddies Aviv Maayan and L.T. Summers—as well as a steel crutch—Andy Boy Simmonz reached the pinnacle of IPW:UK, and became the third ever champion.
In August 2007, Simmonz was appointed as one of the IPW:UK Wrestling School trainers. He has wrestled for the WWE numerous times, and graduated from the acclaimed former FWA:Academy training school. Knowing what it takes to make it as one of Britain's top stars, IPW:UK is proud to have him as a lead trainer.
