Martin Stone is undoubtedy one of the most brutal heavyweight wrestlers in England today, as proved with his Best British Heavyweight title victory within the ranks of IPW:UK.
Making his debut at Best of British 1, Stone destroyed both participants of the match he inturupted, the special Lucha MC, the referee, and even a fan at ringside! With that one move, fans knew exactly what to expect from Martin Stone.
After dominating Spud and lasting the 20-minute distance with Samoa Joe at Return of the Dragon, Stone then outlasted four other men to recieve the crown "Best British Heavyweight" at Best of British 2. Heading into the Weekend of Champions as one of the number one contender to the IPW:UK Title—which was debuting at the show—Stone made one fatal error, inviting Aviv Maayan into his match with Stevie Douglas and trying to "kill two birds with one... Stone."
Aviv Maayan went on to pin Stevie Douglas to the delight of the crowd, but Stone wasn't done. Taking a cricket bat he had hid under the ring before the show, Stone decimated Maayan's ribs and ordered referees and officials at ringside to give him a rematch the night after since he was never pinned—and was still undefeated in IPW:UK! Forced by physical aggression, the match was signed, and on night 2 Martin Stone fulfilled his destiny and became the IPW:UK Champion.
For the next 18 months, Martin Stone was the most dominating force in British wrestling. Taking down the likes of Jody Fleisch, Leroy Kincaide, NOAH's Takeshi Sugiura, and many more.
However, after being beaten down and bloodied, declared unfit for competition, and pulling out of a scheduled title match on October 22, 2006, Andy Boy Simmonz (himself in a cast for a broken ankle) used his "any match, any time" stipulation to jump Stone in an impromptu no-disqualification Falls Count Anywhere title match. The trio of Simmonz, Maayan, and L.T. Summers then beat down Stone to the point of no return—and Simmonz made the cover, from his wheelchair, to crown the third-ever IPW:UK Champion. And now, Stone's on the chase.
In August 2007, Stone was appointed as one of the IPW:UK Wrestling School trainers. A feared man up and down the country, Martin has proven to be a challenger to Doug Williams for best wrestler currently active in England. Stone will give no trainee an easy ride and IPW:UK is proud to have him as a lead trainer.
