The Kartel (Sha Samuels/Terry Frazier)

The Kartel
  • From: London, England
  • Height: 6ft 2in (Samuels), 6ft 1in (Frazier)
  • Finishing Move: The Winning Combination (Big Boot by Frazier while on Samuels's shoulders into a Urunage)

A pair of hard-hitting, all-action brawlers, the Kartel is comprised of the East London duo of Sha Samuels and Terry Frazier. Originally spotted wrestling in a rock club in London, beating down people twice their size and demolishing those half their size, Samuels is the more powerful while Frazier is the disciplined mixed martial artist. But don't be fooled - both men are just as accomplished on the top rope as they are on the canvas, or anywhere else in the building.
After touring the world for several months, the Kartel returned to IPW:UK and won the company's tag titles at the 3rd Anniversary Weekend in September 2007. Taking on all comers, Frazier and Samuels held the belts for over a year and picked up the RQW tag belts in April 2008 - defeating the Thrillers to unify the two titles and become the British Tag Team Champions.

Unfortunately the champions had not heard the last of Gilligan Gordon's men. As part of the Firm alongside Martin Stone and Leroy Kincaide, the Kartel spent much of the year fighting the Thrillers in a memorable and intense feud. Samuels and Frazier lost the tag titles to their rivals during the IPW:UK 4th Anniversary Tour in September but remain top contenders as they enter 2010.

On top of their achievements as a team, both Samuels and Frazier have had considerable success in singles action. Most notably, in October 2008 Terry Frazier was crowned the first ever British National Champion after winning a year-long, 64-man tournament in which he beat the likes of Johnny Kidd, Zack Sabre Jr and Vigilante Johnny Moss. While celebrating his win (which also made him the new All-England Champion), Frazier was viciously attacked by the returning Ashley Reed. That rivalry never got a chance to end as Reed suffered an injury in training weeks before the big final showdown, but it may not be the last we see of those two men in the same ring...
