Another IPW:UK original, the east end hard man is one of the most respected men to have ever competed in the UK, a respect that is shared by fans and his peers alike. Strangely, Martin Stone hasn’t been seen in IPW:UK since the end of 2010.
The former two time IPW: UK Undisputed British heavyweight Champion last competed against his former friend Sha Samuels in a match which Samuels won following a low blow. Following this contest, rumours swirled that “The Guv’nor” had signed a contract with the WWE and would be heading stateside. Prior to his final match, Stone was engulfed in a year long feud with then IPW:UK newcomer, “Dangerous” Danny Garnell. This rivalry spanned numerous contests and ended when Stone beat Garnell in a hard hitting war inside a steel cage
Having been missing from the UK scene for nearly a year and with his WWE contract still only thought to be a rumour, Martin Stone could easily walk straight back onto the IPW: UK roster and once again cement himself as the top dog in British wrestling.
After losing what was, at the time, his final IPW:UK singles bout to former best friend and then IPW:UK Champ Sha Samuels in March 2012, Stone signed with the WWE and flew to Florida to begin his American adventure.
